Peep Child Development Course

Peep is a course developed by the charity PEEPLE, designed to help parents and children learn and grow together. At Home-Start South Warwickshire, our Peep-trained staff run small, supportive groups that focus on:

• Building warm, responsive relationships through talking, listening, playing, singing and sharing stories

• Supporting early learning in literacy, maths, communication and more

• Encouraging learning at home through fun, repeatable activities

Each course is tailored to the families attending. Sessions cover the five key areas of early development: Early Literacy, Early Mathematics, Language & Communication, Personal, Social & Emotional Development, and Health & Physical Development.

We build activities around children’s own interests, making learning engaging and meaningful. For example, a love of dinosaurs can spark early maths (“the T-Rex is on top of the volcano”, “the stegosaurus has five spines”), while fairy tales can inspire role play, storytelling and creative play.

Our friendly, close-knit groups not only strengthen the parent–child bond but also help families connect with each other, offering much-needed peer support in a safe and welcoming space.
