The Big Summer Play Date

 June - July 2023

This June - July we are asking you, your friends, your colleagues or your local community to come together and organise your own 'Play Date' in aid of Home-Start South Warwickshire.

Play is one of the main ways in which children learn and develop. It helps to build self-worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves.

The earliest years make the biggest impact. Children who are raised in a stable, loving, family environment are more likely to have a positive and healthy future. By raising money for 'The Big Summer Play Date' you can help us support children under 5 to access play and give them the best possible start in life. Find out more about what we do here

Getting Started

Step 1: Pick a date between the 12th and 18th June to hold your play date

Step 2: Select a venue, it could be your house, place of work, community group

or a public park

Step 3: Decide on what activites you would like to do on the day, it could be a

simple dress up day or a teddy bear's picnic. You could host your own garden

games, organise a quiz or run a colouring competition. We have plenty of ideas to

help you decide what to do

Step 4: Invite your family, friends, work colleagues or local community.

Use our event poster to publicise your event.

Step 5: Set up a JustGiving Page to collect donations online and ask your participants for a small donation to join in with the activities that you have planned

Step 6: Pay in your money and give yourself a huge pat on the back for supporting Home-Start South Warwickshire and vulnerable families accross the county

"I would say the most helpful part is feeling like you’re listened to, being supported and not judged at all. My volunteer help has for me been the difference between being able to leave the house with all three children and not being stuck at home"
